Foods that Help You Get Your Beauty Sleep
We all need our sleep & at times we might have trouble in getting to sleep. It doesn’t matter how exhausted your are but you still lay in bed with your eyes wide open. Instead of taking prescription sleeping aids a better alternative is to go the natural way. The natural way is to change your eating habits to induce your much needed sleep.
At first you should look at your current diet – are you drinking coffee in the afternoon, sodas or enjoying evening desserts? These are items that are high in caffeine and sugar. Eliminate the sugar cravings in the evening & the coffee cup. For some individuals caffeine can take up to 24 hours to deplete itself from the body. Once you have eliminated those items from your afternoon/evening regiment you might be able to fall asleep easier. However, if you still are feeling wide awake try to add some other nutrients to your diet such as:
1 Turkey: Turkey is not only full of the much needed protein. But is also a natural supplemental sleeping aid. It contains tryptophan, which helps enhance a restful and slumber sleep. If you think about it – out of all holidays in the year, which day of these holidays do you remember that you have felt the most drowsy or sleepy on?….Thanksgiving & Christmas?
2Bananas: Add some banana to your evening snack instead of the sugary sweets. Bananas contain melatonin, tryptophan and magnesium. All these three ingredients are body relaxing and sleeping induced natural ingredients.
3Milk: Warm up some milk in the evening. Milk also contains the magical ingredient of tryptophan and will give you a good slumber and help your body to relax.
Another approach is to take a warm bath with some Epsom salt. The salt contains magnesium, which gets absorbed in the skin and will not only refresh you but also help you in relaxing your body and mind.
